PTO Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, September 6, 2023
6:00p-7:00p

Welcome & Introductions – Ashley introduced herself & other present Board Members
Principal Update – Carpool: Parent walk ups are not allowed. To mitigate traffic issues, the single carpool line will double once you get to the middle of the parking lot and then go back to a single line once the car gets to the curb where the students are. Every time there are two cars at a time on opposite sides, use the rule of every other. A map will be sent home soon explaining the changes.

Bylaws & Standing Rules update: To review, please see attached for reference. There were no updates from last year.

Budget Presentation & vote/Teacher Classroom Requests: budget was approved. 1st: Tom Atwood, 2nd: Rachel Campbell

SIT Ballot & Voting Instructions: Linda Rhyne recorded video share more on SIT. Voting sheets were provided to accept or decline new members. All students received the same voting instructions on their folders this past week.

Chairs & Co-Chairs Needed: we are always needed volunteers. If you would like to be part of any of the upcoming events, including spirit nights, community partners, book fair, fun run, etc. please connect with Ashley Seymour.

Committee & Event Updates
- Room Parents- all rooms have a room parent, except for two. Actively looking.
- Fall Festival – need volunteers, please connect with Ashely Seymour.
- Copy Crew/Lost & Found- lost and found close to media center, but items can also be posted on Parent Square.
- Volunteers needed for Snack the Staff: Usually occurs on early release day and curriculum nights. Connect with Ashley Seymour.
- Grade Level Get Togethers on Weekends- this will go through the room parents

Upcoming Dates:
- 9/6 – Safety Committee Meeting, Planning Room, 8AM
- 9/7 – Hungry Howie’s Spirit Night
- 9/11- SIT meeting, LES Media Center, 8AM
- 9/14 – Curriculum Night, 6-7:15PM
- 9/19 – Fall Pictures
- 9/20 – Early Release Day, 1:15 PM – Snack the Staff day
- 9/21 – Restaurant Spirit Night (TBD)
- 9/25 – Teacher Workday – No School
- 10/2 – Custodian Day
